I started open water swimming in March 2024 with the goal of preparing for the Ironman 70.3 Cascais. At first, I was quite apprehensive – the sea felt unfamiliar and intimidating. To my surprise, I ended up enjoying the experience so much that I participated in a few exclusively open water races, something I never imagined I would do.
Today, I continue to approach the sea with respect and passion, overcoming fears and living each stroke as a victory. Open water swimming has become more than just a part of my training; it’s something that gives me a sense of freedom and connection with nature. Every dive is an opportunity to push my limits. Even with challenges along the way, I’ve learned that each obstacle is part of the journey and strengthens our determination. The Ironman was just the beginning of a new passion that I continue to explore, with new goals and adventures on the horizon.
